M'Hencha (also know more correctly as M'Hanncha) will take you on an exotic taste journey to Morocco and back. Its origins lie with the North African Berbers and it is an enchanting coiled pastry cake made from an almond frangipane, citrus zests and rosewater, wrapped in brick pastry topped with pistachios. A mixture of crisp crunch and gooey yumptiousness awaits you.
PREPARE TO AWAKEN YOUR SENSES!
I was looking for something unique and special that would set my baking apart. Baking my way through cookbook after cookbook in search of "the one" I discovered The M'Hencha. Thrilled with some of the flavours but not completely satisfied I continued experimenting with recipes. My M'hencha is a combination of my favourite elements and my interpretation of this classic North African pastry. Confident this was going to be "the one" I submitted my version of M'Hencha to the Great Taste Awards to put it to the ultimate test! The M'Hencha was awarded a coveted 3 Gold Stars in the Great Taste Awards AND nominated as one of the Top 50 foods in Britain and Ireland today!
